About Kohl's Stony Hill Tree Farm
Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm got its start as a small Christmas tree farm. In 1986, we purchased a rundown 39 acre farm that surprisingly had about 2000 evergreen trees planted in one of the fields. The first year we decided to cut some of the trees in an effort to sell them at my grandparents farm market (Kohl’s Market) located along route 147 about 3 miles north of Northumberland.
Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm offers "Choose & Cut" trees with 1000’s of Douglas Fir, Concolor, Fraser Fir, and Blue Spruce trees to choose from in sizes from 3 to 14 feet. Pre-cut trees are also available, all of which we can drill, shake, and bale for you.
Over the years we have expanded to be more than just trees. We added products and services such as wreaths and drilled trees. In 1989, we started taking our wreaths, log boxes and cemetery blankets to the Lewisburg Farmers Market and The Route 15 Flea Market, which we still do today starting the week before Thanksgiving till Christmas.
In 2002, Kohl’s Stony Hill Tree Farm initiated the largest edition to the farm with the construction of a 4,800 sq. ft. Christmas Shoppe. Here, we make all of our fresh wreaths (in sizes 6" to 6'), centerpieces, cemetery blankets and headstone bouquets. In 2006, we began making and supplying wreaths to "Wreaths for Warriors", a local effort to place wreaths on cemeteries in Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties to honor our local heroes.
In our Shoppe, you can also see PA’s Largest Christmas Tree Stand Collection from all over the world! This impressive and unique collection features over 1,100 stands from all over the world from the 1800’s to the present. You’ll be transported to the past as you recognize stands from your childhood. Most people are amazed at all the different styles we have on display.
In 2012 we made a major addition to the farm by increasing our shop size to over 12,000 square feet which include a ramp to get to the second floor.
The spring of 2013 we hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and hid eggs inside the Christmas Shoppe too.
2013 also brings the next addition to the farm with more summer hours for those that want to get an early start on the season or just take your time looking around when we are not so busy. The 6th of September we open our Corn Maze of which we are very excited. October brings the thoughts of Halloween and for us a Pumpkin Patch where you will be able to go and choose your pumpkin from our field.
We also have white pine rope, over 80,000 ornaments, stockings, tree skirts, tree tops, fall hayrides, handmade crafts and much, much more.
With all this locally available, you can find the perfect tree and all you need to make this your brightest holiday season ever! We hope to see you soon.
